Infinity Ward seems to be nothing more than Activision....

Due to the removal of Jason West and Vince Zampella, IW seems to be nothing more than a small addition to Activision's team. After they had been removed from the team, a large portion followed the team to form a new developer, Respawn Entertainment. Will this lack of manpower hinder or ultimately be Modern Warfare's downfall?

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Announced!

From leaked info at Kotaku, Modern Warfare 3 has had a scheduled release date of November 8th, 2011. So far there have been multiple videos released depicting the same display MW2's elevator scene had. But this time around, it spans all across the world, from the United States all the way to Germany. More information has confirmed around 20 maps and a completely new EXP system.

More information on the topic can be found here.

Need some extra cash for Game Addons?

Believe it or not, some of these survey sites actually work. If you still haven't gotten First Strike or Escalation map packs or even some of the Halo: Reach packs, now is your chance without having to actually spend money.

Points2Shop has been an amazing site. I started back about 3 weeks ago and have so far gotten some great things I've always needed. It's partnered with Amazon, so your rewards are always guaranteed.

Survey on headset preference for console gamers

I recently gave a survey on what the preferred setup was when using communications and sound system was via console. Surprisingly, not everyone uses a Turtle Beach nor Astros. From what I read, quite a few prefer the standard Xbox communicator or not headset at all. It seems as though headsets aren't everyone's thing. But for any pro gamer, most use them.

I use a Turtle Beach (X#, XLC, PX, etc.): 30%

I use Skull Candy: 0%

I use Astro: 5%

Other: 10%

I just use a regular Xbox Communicator (WiFi mic, Throat Mic, Standard): 5%

I use neither a headset or mic: 5%

Modern Warfare 3?

Direct article from joystiq

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare publisher Activision has repeatedly stated that Infinity Ward is doing fine since heads Vince Zampella and Jason West were ousted from the company early last year. A report on the LA Times' Company Town blog, however, tells a different story -- according to the piece, both Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software have been tasked with helping develop the next, still unannounced Modern Warfare title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

"People familiar with the situation" claim that Sledgehammer is working with the remaining staff at Infinity Ward on developing the game's single-player campaign, while Singularity developer Raven Software is in charge of bringing up the multiplayer side of things. The sources also contend that, like past Call of Duty titles, MW3 is expected to ship this November. Additionally, Sledgehammer is said to have halted production on its own spinoff Call of Duty title in order to help IW out.

Update: Activision issued a comment in response to the LAT piece, stating, "There's been much specultion recently. We look forward to releasing details for the next Call of Duty in the near future."
